my urban project- photo shoot 1 recording my ideas
over the six week holiday's we where given homework's to do one was to take photos of people the other was to take urban abstract and capturing the moment photography's. I found this a very fun and interesting homework because we got to explore different areas of Southampton and London and we could do it by ourselves and express our own ideas.
ALEXEY TITAREMKO
some of his workAt age 15, he became the youngest member of the independent photo club Zerkalo . He went on to graduate from the Department of Cinematic and Photographic Art at Leningrad's Institute of Culture.
Influenced by Russian avant garde, works of Kazimir Malevich, Alexander Rodchenko and Dada art movement early 20th century, his series of colleges photomontages and images created by superposing several negatives, "Nomenklatura of Signs" first exhibited only in 1988, in Leningrad is a commentary on the communist regime as an oppressive system that converts citizens into mere signs. In 1989, "Nomenklatura of Signs" was included in Photostroyka, a major show of new Soviet photography that toured the US.
During and after the collope of the soviet union in 1991-1992 he produced several series of photographs about human conditions of the ordinary people living on its territory and the suffering they have endured then and throughout the twentieth century. To illustrate links between the present and the past, he created powerful metaphors by introducing long exposure and intentional camera movment into street photography. Especially the way he uses long exposure many sources note as his most important innovation. John Bailey in his essay about Garry Winogrand and Alexey Titarenko mentioned that "One of the obstacles was having an exposure of himself and people's reaction to him included in the image."

Refining my ideas- best photos
these photos that I have chosen are the ones that I think are best to edit
very simple photos but can become complex photos with a little bit of
editing.

other locations-Poland Krakow capturing a moment photo shoot
in the two weeks off I visited the old capital of Poland Krakow and visited many places such as Auschwitz's and the royal castle
the hole time I was their I took photo after photo of the famous places and even non famous places I went to the old town and even the new reformed one whilst their I took loads of urban and street photos one thing that stood out was the old trams their that they still use it was an amazing trip and I really enjoyed it all together and would love to go back their.

developing my ideas- editing my images
firstly I uploaded the photo I wanted to edit
then I started to play with the hue and saturation see what colour would stand out most on the old wall and also playing with the brightness of the puicture of itself to give it that more intense look and mood
after I had sorted out what I wanted to have as colour for the old cobblestone brick wall I uploaded a second photo of me and traced around it with the wizarding tool.
after cropping the image of me I moved it into the first photo and gave it a touch up removing any of the background that you could see behind me I then moved the second image around placing it under the arch way after finding where I wanted the second image I played with the opacity to fade the second image a tiny bit to make the image look old
on this edit I have made the walls a blood red colour and put a ghost in their the reasons I have done this to my edit is that one this old building or castle wall has been standing for hundreds of years and the amount of people that probably died to make it and defend it is in the hundreds that's why the walls have been turned red to show the blood that has been spilt for the peoples land.
I haven't done much to this photo but turn it black and white and make some of the titles brighter and some of the images darker this is to try and show how important reading still is and that their are still some great things out in this world.
nothing has really been changed to this images I have only changed the colouring and the background like the bus in the far back that should be red but is purple instead I have tried to make this image a brighter image instead of the dark grey dull image it was.
I have changed the colour of this exit sign because the old one was ruined down and dirty and was basically blending in with its surrounding's when it is meant to stand out and not blend in so I changed it by turning it into a fruity pinkish purple colour so it would be easier to spot if their ever was a emergency like a fire plus it also has the futuristic feel to it not that old boring feel.
this image I haven't changed anything apart from the little sign where it says we buy your stuff for cash I changed the colour from red to blue
in this edit I have made the bottom floor red and the second floor not so red only the shops I am trying to show evil as a colour because every shop wants you to come and buy its products they don't care if your happy or not they just want to make money as fast as they possible can so the red shows the evil hiding the evil that the naked eye cannot see.
this photo has had a lot of things changed with it one of the key things I changed was the colour itself I changed all the colours to basically dark negative colours and to add to that I also lowered the brightness to give it that more sketchy look that more pale feeling.
in this photo I have changed the colour yes but only so the man would come up better for you could not see him but I have placed this man hear because he looks like someone from the way back time of the eighteen hundreds with is suit and waist coat he looks like he is just coming out of somewhere if not waiting for someone or something to arrive something important perhaps.
in this photo i changed the colour of the robes their where wearing from a orange colour to a florescent green colour what i really like about this image is the eyes that stand out the most from it all they are what i think pull the picture together and make it hole.
my favourite photo
in this photo I didn't do much editing I just changed the hue and saturation of it but it made a massive change to the photo itself it has brought the colours out really nicely but also changed the colours and developed them and changed them completely it has also changed the background giving it a more vibrant look and feel.
i like this photo the most because of the colours that i have made out of editing the rich yellow and green mixed with a strong orange and a small portion or turquoise blue yet their is three people all balancing on each other the concentration would be extremely hard trying not to fall or make any sudden movements. |
